A small Missouri town that got its start as a general store and post office, Branson started booming in the late 1960s as a musical resort for nationally-known performers when the Presley family moved its show to Highway 76. Since then, it has transformed into a venue for country and rock bands, as well as standards performers like Andy Williams.
Lots of attractions
These days, Branson's attractions include a new convention center, a butterfly palace, Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede, parks and other entertainment venues.
